A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer it and maintain necessary correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine server and analytics logs may capture technical details when a page loads:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Comal County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to Comal County custodians, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal profile, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search tools. A provider's own privacy terms govern information entered there, including its retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not control the provider.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Comal County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, and outside services. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's policy applies. Its terms should be reviewed before personal information is submitted.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads.

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be disclosed to:

Rights vary with the law that applies to the visitor and the data. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs access to records held by Texas government bodies, while Government Code Chapter 411 limits dissemination of criminal history record information. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

- Ask that inaccurate visitor data be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to certain processing where a legal right applies
